Thank You for Supporting Folds of Honor
The latest Omaze dream house giveaway has us fantasizing about live music and BBQ-filled days in Austin. But the best part? Donations will support Folds of Honor Foundation through grants from CAF America. And because you already donated, Folds of Honor wants to send a hero-sized thank you…
For a closer look at what drives Folds of Honor, read on.
On a flight after his second tour in Iraq, Lieutenant Colonel Dan Rooney saw the other side of war. The flight carried the remains of Corporal Brock Bucklin, whose family—including his four-year-old son, Jacob—were there to meet the plane on the tarmac. It was then that Rooney decided he needed to do something to help families, like the Bucklins, who had paid the ultimate sacrifice.
In May 2007, Lieutenant Colonel Rooney founded Folds of Honor Foundation to provide scholarships to the families of fallen or disabled service members. Jacob Bucklin was the first to receive a scholarship. Since then, over 29,000 scholarships have been awarded.
Your support could help a hero’s loved ones graduate, pursue their career and build a life that honors their veteran. At Omaze, we’re constantly awed by the generosity of our community, and so is Folds of Honor.
