About the cause
All funds raised will be split evenly among these three causes:
The Lustgarten Foundation – a nonprofit organization founded in 1998 that funds pancreatic cancer research, facilitates dialogue within the medical and scientific community, and educates the public about the disease through awareness campaigns and fundraising events. Due to the support of Cablevision, 100% of every dollar donated to The Lustgarten Foundation goes directly to research aimed at detecting the disease earlier, developing more effective treatments, and finding a cure for pancreatic cancer, the most lethal of all cancers. HerShe USA - a non-profit that prepares girls in foster care to successfully transition into adulthood by keeping abused and neglected foster youth - often at-risk after emancipation with no home or family - from homelessness, incarceration, unemployment and early pregnancy. Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals - since 1983, this organization has raised more than $5 billion—most of it $1 at a time—for 170 children’s hospitals across the United States and Canada, which, in turn, use the money where it’s needed the most. Selected by Morris Chestnut.
